Funded Early Education Offer

At The Old Co-Operative, we are pleased to offer funded early education places in line with current government guidance and our Provider Agreement with Nottinghamshire County Council.

Funded Entitlement

We offer funded places (subject to eligibility and availability) for children aged 9 months and above, including:

• Funded entitlement for eligible children aged 9 months+
• 15 hours funded entitlement for eligible 2-year-olds
• 15 hours universal entitlement for all 3 and 4-year-olds
• 30 hours extended entitlement for eligible working families

Funded hours are offered on a term-time only basis (38 weeks per year) and are not stretched across the full year.

Our sessions operate Monday to Friday, 7:30am – 5:00pm. Parents may access their funded hours across the week within our available session times, subject to availability and agreed booking patterns.

Charges and Voluntary Extras

Government funding covers early education and care only. There is no charge for accessing funded hours.

We offer a voluntary £18 consumables fee which contributes towards:

• Meals and snacks
• Extra-curricular activities
• Special events and experiences

Parents are not required to pay this fee in order to access their child’s funded entitlement.

We do not offer packed lunches due to allergy management and the importance of maintaining consistent and safe mealtime routines for all children. Families who choose not to take up the meals and snacks option can still access their funded entitlement by selecting alternative session times that do not include meal periods.

For example, funded hours may be accessed during sessions such as:

• 9:00am – 12:00pm
• 1:00pm – 3:00pm

Subject to availability and agreed booking patterns.

Participation in extra-curricular activities, special events and experiences is optional.

Additional hours attended outside of the funded entitlement are charged at £12 per hour in line with our published fees. Sessions attended during school holidays (outside of the 38-week funded period) are charged at our full published rates.

How to Apply

Parents wishing to claim funded hours must:

• Provide a valid eligibility code (where applicable)
• Complete a Parent Declaration Form
• Provide a copy of their child’s birth certificate or passport
