We operate a Before and After School Club here at the Old Co-operative premises which we call The Batcave.
The Batcave is a fun, relaxed and welcoming Club for children to attend before the start and at the end of the school day. We give children choices and opportunities so that they can have a strong voice in the running and operation of the Club. We are able to provide outdoor space for football, tennis and other sports as well as indoor craft, reading chatting and chilling space. Yes we do, of course, have computers and children are allowed to access age appropriate software, all carefully monitored and within strict boundaries which are agreed with the children beforehand.
We offer group activities such as visiting the Park or having film nights (with popcorn, naturally) in fact we are open to any suggestions that the children make. If we can do it we will.
The Batcave is open from 7.30 a.m, breakfast is served until 8.00 a.m - children may choose from cereal, toast, fruit, yoghurt etc. Occasionally we have our Continental Breakfast of croissant and jam or our famous 'Fry Up Friday'.
Children are then asked to line up at 8.30 a.m to be escorted to school. At the end of the school day we meet the children in the school yard and again escort them back to the Nursery where we have a light tea at around 4.15 p.m before the children are free to pursue their own activity choices. Places at The Batcave should be booked in advance.
The Batcave also operates a School Holiday Club again a variety of activities will be on offer. Sometimes we arrange a trip out for example to go swimming, or the cinema or to Rushcliffe Park occasionally there may be a small fee for such outings. As with the Before and After School Club the Holiday Club must be booked in advance. Places in the Holiday Clubs are subject to availability please contact us before hand.
For Batcave current fees please see our Fees section on this website.
